In compliance with the request of the High Commissioner for the Western Pacific, I have the honour to inform you that Mr. E. A. Blow referred to in your Despatch to Sir B. Escott No. 57 of the 5th. March last was admitted to the Government Civil Hospital in this Colony on the 18th. November, 1897, suffering from liver abscess. Mr. Blow was very seriously ill and an operation was performed by Dr. J. M. Atkinson but he died on the 23rd. Novem-
